  • Collaborate with L1 support teams to escalate issues as needed.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.

  • Strong understanding of server hardware and software components.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS).

Technical Support Engineer – Field Support / Onsite Technical Specialist
Location: Mumbai (Base Location)
Travel Requirement: Extensive travel – 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) across client locations

About the Role We are looking for a highly motivated, customer-focused Technical Support Engineer to join our field support team. This is a 100% customer-facing, onsite role where you will travel extensively across client locations in and around Mumbai to demonstrate product capabilities, deploy across multiple devices, troubleshoot, configure, and resolve complex product as well as Windows and network-related issues. You will act as the primary technical point of contact for end-users and IT teams, delivering high-quality support with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Provide onsite technical demonstration of the features of the products and training to the end users. • Provide onsite technical support and troubleshooting for issues reported on Windows-based systems and investigate network connectivity issues at client locations • Diagnose and resolve network-related problems including TCP/IP configuration, DNS resolution, gateway issues, DHCP, connectivity failures, affecting product operations •. Deploy the product across multiple windows platforms and devices • Configure and troubleshoot Windows network settings (IP configuration, DNS, WINS, proxy, VPN, Wi-Fi profiles, etc.) • Manage and troubleshoot file system permissions, NTFS/share-level access issues, and user access problems • Perform Active Directory related tasks including user & group troubleshooting, authentication issues, domain join problems, and basic Group Policy verification • Use PowerShell and Command Prompt extensively to diagnose, automate, and resolve issues efficiently • Document issues, solutions, and client interactions clearly and professionally • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or specialized teams when required • Maintain excellent customer satisfaction through clear communication, professionalism, and timely resolution • Travel daily to client sites across the city/region (5 days/week) Must-Have Skills & Experience • Strong working knowledge of Windows file system (NTFS permissions, share permissions, inheritance, effective permissions, access denied troubleshooting) • Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows network settings (IPv4/IPv6, DNS, gateway, subnet mask, DHCP, static vs dynamic IP) • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve common network connectivity issues (TCP/IP stack, DNS resolution failures, gateway unreachable, no internet access, name resolution problems) • Basic to intermediate understanding of Active Directory concepts (authentication, domain join, user accounts, basic Group Policy, trust relationships) • Proficient in using PowerShell and Command Prompt for system and network troubleshooting (ipconfig, nslookup, ping, tracert, netsh, Get-NetIPConfiguration, Test-NetConnection, etc.) • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills – must be able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users and write professional emails/reports • Strong customer service orientation with patience and professionalism under pressure • Willingness and ability to travel 5 days a week across client locations (field role – not office-based) Qualifications (Any one of the following) • BCA / BSc IT / BSc Computer Science • MCA • Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology • BE / BTech (Computer Science, IT, Electronics & Telecommunication, or related fields) Preferred (Good to Have) • Any relevant Microsoft certification (MD-100, MD-101, AZ-800, Network+, CCNA, etc.) • Experience supporting Windows 10 / Windows 11 in enterprise environments • Basic understanding of VPN, proxy servers, or firewall concepts • Prior experience in IT field support / on-site technical support role • Familiarity with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Freshdesk, Zendesk, etc.) What We Offer • Opportunity to build strong technical and customer-facing skills • Exposure to diverse client environments and real-world troubleshooting • Structured training and career growth path in technical support & IT infrastructure • Competitive salary + travel allowance + performance incentives
